I am a PreK–Grade 5 music educator and Orff Schulwerk practitioner. I have completed AOSA Teacher Education Levels I–III, have served on the leadership board of our local chapter of AOSA , and presently serve on the editorial board of The Orff Echo, a quarterly music educators journal. I've also enjoyed presenting professional development sessions for public school systems, chapters of AOSA, and state and national educator conferences. Collaborating with educators from across the country has been a gift, and I look forward to future opportunities that come my way.
After completing my bachelor's in music education at West Virginia University, I received both a graduate certificate in Orff Schulwerk studies and a master's in music education from the University of Kentucky. My teaching practices include a foundation shaped by song, movement, creativity, and play. Right now I am most interested in how educators can use free play as a supplemental approach to traditional instruction. Check out my article, "Free Play in the Music Classroom," found in the Winter 2023 issue of The Orff Echo.
